EMPOWERED LEARNING AT ST MARK'S

The Empowered Learning Project is part of the City of Edinburgh Council’s ambitious and inclusive education strategy, Edinburgh Learns for Life.

The investment of £17.6m in the Empowered Learning project will provide a world class digital environment for all learners. The Empowered Learning Project will give every young person from P6 to S6 an iPad. Shared iPads are available for use in P1 to P5 and Early Years. These devices have significantly enhanced the learning experience through equity of access, encouraging innovation, evoking imagination, and nurturing a love of learning. The project has created a unique opportunity to unlock the potential of every learner across all schools and allows collaboration and innovation to flourish in our city.

At St Mark’s we have embraced Empowered Learning. Our pupils have quickly adapted to utilising the iPads in the most creative ways, collaborating with each other to find exciting new ways of engaging with their learning.

Before the P6 and P7 iPads are sent home, Parents and Carers are asked to read the Home School and Responsible Use agreements with their child and then sign and return these to school.
